4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States

“Charting the Course Toward Resilient Prosperity“ is the (very optimistic) slogan of the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States, that started Monday in Antigua and Barbuda. Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are confronted with multiple crises: climate change, economic and social consequences of COVID-19, dependence on tourism, and the debt crisis. Most important: Weather-related disasters have doubled in two decades. Island nations are both most vulnerable and least responsible. In Antigua and Barbuda the United Nations will gather to „review SIDS’ sustainable development progress and propose a new decade of partnerships and solutions to supercharge their path to resilient prosperity“. => SIDS 2024 Conference Site
