Dagmar SchmidtBerlin/Bonn (epo). - Die entwicklungspolitische Szene in Deutschland trauert um Dagmar Schmidt. Die SPD-Bundestagsabgeordnete hatte Ende August noch am epo-Chat mit der Arbeitsgruppe Wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung der SPD-Fraktion teilgenommen. Dagmar Schmidt war stellvertretende Sprecherin der SPD im Ausschuss für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (AWZ) des Deutschen Bundestages.

Klaus T?pferBerlin (epo). - Prof. Dr. Klaus Töpfer, Exekutivdirektor des Umweltprogramms der Vereinten Nationen (UNEP), erhält die Ehrenmedaille der Deutschen Gesellschaft für die Vereinten Nationen (DGVN). Die  nach dem früheren UN-Generalsekretär benannte Auszeichnung wird am 2. Dezember 2005, anlässlich des 100. Geburtstags von Dag Hammarskjöld, in Bonn verliehen.

einsFrankfurt/Main (epo). - Die "Zeitschrift Entwicklungspolitik" erhält im Dezember einen neuen Namen und ein neues Gewand. "eins - Entwicklungspolitik Information Nord-Süd" wird die Zeitschrift (früher: epd-Entwicklungspolitik) ab der ersten Dezember-Ausgabe heißen.

Rudolf HoltkampStuttgart (epo). - Rudolf Holtkamp (56) ist neuer Geschäftsführer der FAKT Beratung für Management, Bildung und Technologien GmbH in Stuttgart. Der promovierte Agraringenieur hat als Geschäftsführer eines beruflichen Bildungszentrums in Freren/Emsland wie bei LUSO-Consult und später BHI-HRD in Hamburg umfangreiche Managementerfahrung gesammelt. In den letzten Jahren arbeitete er als freier Berater und Gutachter für deutsche und internationale Organisationen der staatlichen und nichtstaatlichen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Seine Beratungsschwerpunkte liegen in der Moderation wie in Planung, Monitoring und Evaluierung von Projekten.

Joke Waller-HunterBonn (epo). - Joke Waller-Hunter, die Leiterin des Sekretariats der UN Klimarahmenkonvention (UNFCCC) in Bonn, ist im Alter von 58 Jahren gestorben. Die Niederländerin bereitete als Mitglied ihrer Regierungsdelegation den UN Umweltgipfel 1992 in Rio de Janeiro mit vor und übernahm zehn Jahre später den Posten der UNFCCC Exekutivsekretärin. In dieser Funktion trieb sie die Verhandlungen für das Kyoto-Protokoll zur Begrenzung der Kohlendioxid-Emissionen voran, das in diesem Jahr in Kraft treten konnte.

eireneNeuwied (epo). - Seit Anfang Oktober hat der Internationale Christliche Friedensdienst EIRENE mit Angela König eine neue Geschäftsführerin. Sie ist Nachfolgerin von Eckehard Fricke, der als Landesdirektor des DED nach Mosambik gegangen ist. Angela König war zuletzt beim Evangelischen Entwicklungsdienst (EED) Referentin für die Querschnittsaufgabe Gender und arbeitete als Beraterin mit Partnerorganisationen in Südasien im Bereich Konflikt und Entwicklung.
